“I was sitting enjoying my lunch at a table in the press box, watching the start of the Iowa-Northwestern game. There was a game-day worker at the table, too, and about midway through my meal, Michael Adams came and sat down next to her, striking up a conversation. He asked her if she went to school at Georgia (she didn’t) and what she did here. She then asked if he worked at Georgia, too. “Well, yes, I do,” he said. “I’m the president of the university.” Hilarious.”

So here’s the part where like, everyone I know stops following me. Michael Adams is actually pretty good at what he does. He came to speak to us in Oxford and was very personable, had a few jokes (mostly about underage drinking) and passionate about international education. After his lecture, he joined us for High Table dinner and I had the chance to talk to he and his wife for about 20 minutes.

He may have the worst policies ever, like ZERO FUN EVER, but as a fundraiser and public relations manager of the University, he’s very good at his job. (Minus that whole, forgetting to renew the trademarks for the University and the concurring fight with the Board of Trustees). But kissing ass and begging for money? He’s stellar.

The saddest part of this video is how much I see a) my father and b) myself in how this guy reacts to the game.

It may get worse when I realize that my father is the ordinary section, commenting on history and critiquing the commentators. While I do that too, my father doesn’t start screaming and overly express the rules like someone else does….that is definitely NOT me. I promise. I would never do that. Ever.

I’ve been having trouble sleeping lately so my doctor gave me a prescription for Ambien. As we know from Audrey’s experience, Ambien can lead to some pretty crazy dreams. Last night, I had a dream that I was back at Oxford and that I was sitting around that crazy octagon quad outside the dining hall at Trinity with a bunch of people (a really random mix of people from Oxford, Georgia, and Charleston, which made it even more weird). Anyway, we were sitting around the quad drinking wine when all of a sudden a bunch of police officers ran into the dining hall. When they came out, they were escorting Dr. Trivedi—in handcuffs—to the police car that magically appeared. Apparently, he was the head of some Madoff-esque Ponzi scheme and had been using the UGA at Oxford program to lauder money. Hooray, Ambien.

AAAAAAAAAAAAHAHAHAHAAA Yessssssssssss. I would buy that story.

And I still can’t believe he gave me a B- (amiright amy? amiright?)

That all came into focus yesterday morning when my son was singing “Glory, Glory” asking if Georgia was winning while I was watching the replay. He didn’t care (or even have the concept of knowing to care). All he knew was that Georgia was playing and that made him happy. I don’t like losing. I don’t like seeing Georgia play bad football. However, I will always prefer being a 3-3 Georgia Bulldog over being fan of any other team. That is just who I am. That is my home.”

My friend Sydney did the courtesy of reminding me of this exact same thing today. Sunday was probably the first time I have ever been so down trodden following a game. It’s also the first time I’ve ever called for the firing of a coach. I didn’t like the feeling.
